THE BRAND

Founded in 2024 by Australian designer Deanna Politis, AFENDRA is the designer’s vivid love letter to the people and places that have taught her to see the beauty in everything; from the intimacy of shared moments, to the storied landscapes of her ancestors, and the dreamlike worlds discovered in fine art, cinema, and sculpture. Each collection reflects a dialogue between past and present, drawing on nostalgic references, reimagined craftsmanship, and contemporary silhouettes to create pieces that feel both familiar and new. AFENDRA is dedicated to the idea that clothing can hold fragments of a life: a celebration, a quiet moment, a passing season.

Every AFENDRA piece is thoughtfully designed and made entirely in Australia by local makers and artisans. We’re committed to minimising our environmental impact by producing mindful quantities of high-quality, “legacy” pieces — garments designed to be worn and re-worn, carrying meaning and memories long after the moment has passed.

 

A NOTE FROM THE DESIGNER

For me, fashion is as much about identity as it is about design. Guided by an instinct for storytelling, I see each piece as part of a larger narrative; a fragment of who we are and who we are becoming. My greater vision for AFENDRA is to empower women to embrace being powerful, sensitive, elegant, effortless and everything in between.
